LEM adds two high-precision current transformers to the IN series

IN 1500-S and IN 1000-SHF: New high-precision current transformers from LEM

As an official LEM distributor, we are pleased to present two new, high-precision current transformers from the successful IN series: IN 1500-S and IN 1000-SHF. These current transformers have been specially developed for applications with the highest demands on precision and reliability and are ideal for measuring DC, AC and pulse currents. The two transformers are used in medical technology, measurement technology, energy monitoring and industrial power applications, among others.

IN 1500-S: High-precision current transformer for rated currents in the 1500A range

LEM IN 1500 S

The new IN 1500-S is the ideal solution for applications with a rated current of 1500 A. It offers the usual high accuracy, low noise and reliability of all sensors in the IN series and closes the gap between 1000 A and 2000 A.

Technologically, the sensor is based on the well-known and highly precise " closed-loop zero-fluxgate technology ," supplemented by state-of-the-art digital signal processing . This significantly reduces the ripple of the fluxgate signal while simultaneously increasing resistance to temperature influences, interference , and supply voltage fluctuations. The sensor is UL/UR certified , quickly operational thanks to FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays), and features a status signal as well as an LED for functional monitoring .

Special features of the IN series:
  • Highest accuracy (linearization error ±0.0002 %)
  • Bandwidth up to 2 MHz (at ±3dB)
  • Integrated overcurrent protection
  • Operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C (except IN 1500-S, with an operating temperature of -40 °C to +50 °C)
  • Extremely high long-term stability (up to 0.1 ppm/month)
  • IN 1000-SHF - New standards in bandwidth and speed

IN 1000-SHF - New standards in bandwidth and speed

LEM IN 1000 SHF

With the IN 1000-SHF, LEM sets new standards in current measurement. This sensor achieves a bandwidth of 2.5 MHz (at ±3 dB) and a delay time of less than 1 ns (at 10% of the rated current), which is approximately 1,000 times faster than its predecessor, the IN 1000-S. This makes it particularly suitable for demanding test and measurement tasks , for example, in high-frequency technology or fast control loops . The sensor delivers a secondary current of 1 A at 1000 A rated current and is designed for operation between -40 °C and +85 °C . An LED display and status output ensure easy monitoring.

Further optimizations compared to the predecessor IN 1000-S:
  • 5 times higher bandwidth
  • 2-fold improved offset (±5 ppm)
  • 3 times lower temperature drift (±0.1 ppm/K)
  • Extremely low noise: less than 0.218 ppm

Examples of applications for both sensors:
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • High-precision laboratory power supplies
  • Energy and power measurement
  • Calibration units
  • Test benches (e.g. for electric vehicles)
  • Medical devices with high power consumption

All products of the high-precision IN series, including IN 100-S, IN 200-S, IN 400-S, IN 500-S, IN 1000-S, IN 1000-SHF, IN 1200-S and IN 2000-S are available from us.
