MILESTONES OF SIMPEX ELECTRONIC AG
Simpex Electronic AG, based in Wetzikon ZH and with a branch in Cressier, is a leading trading company in the Swiss market for industrial electronics, production and LED lighting engineering. The family-run company impresses with the high level of consulting expertise of its employees and its broad product range of high-quality components, assemblies and system solutions in five business units.
1981
Simpex Electronic AG was founded in Zurich in 1981. From the outset, the trading company sold power supplies and electromechanical components.
1989
Reichle Holding acquired Simpex Electronic AG in 1989.
1994
In 1994, the third business unit System Components was founded with the aim of covering all input and output systems of a machine.
1996
Walter Ruf took over the management of Simpex Electronic AG in 1996.
2000
In 2000, the company moved its headquarters from Volketswil to Wetzikon in the Zurich Oberland.
2005
The company opened its own production facility in Cressier NE in 2005. This enables it to offer cable assemblies, component assembly and other services tailored specifically to customer requirements.
2010
The management buy-out of Simpex Electronic AG from Reichle Holding took place in 2010.
2016
Simpex Electronic AG adapted to the needs of the market and launched its first e-shop in 2016.
2017
Simpex Electronic AG was already selling LED chips in the System Components division in the 1990s. When the technological transformation of LEDs provided access to the lighting market, a separate division, LED lighting engineering, was founded.
2020
Since 2020, Jill Ruf as CEO and Andreas Schneider as CSO have formed the company's new management team.
