Airflow and temperature management in the enclosure by Fandis
The causes of malfunctions of electrical and electronic devices housed in switch cabinets or mounted as an integral part of machines are often due to heat problems. In reality, the service life of the components depends on the ambient temperature and humidity. The recommended normal operating temperature inside an enclosure must not exceed +35°C with a relative humidity of no more than 60%.
Fandis - Italy's number 1 for air conditioning solutions in enclosures - offers a wide range of solutions in the form of filterfans for efficient and targeted heat dissipation for a wide variety of applications.

Natural air circulation
The use of an outlet filter ensures air flow and heat dissipation in a natural way. In combination with an inlet filter, this solution is suitable for dissipating low heat generation in dusty environments.

Forced ventilation by means of a filter fan
Forced ventilation is a cost-effective and efficient solution for preventing excessively high temperatures in the enclosure. When more heat needs to be dissipated and natural air circulation is no longer sufficient.

Filterfan B-flow intake
The best configuration is the combination of an inlet filter fan at the bottom and an outlet filter at the top of the enclosure. The filter fan (B-flow intake) conveys fresh, cool air to the bottom of the enclosure and the heated air can flow out through an outlet filter at the top. The overpressure in the enclosure generated by the forced ventilation prevents unfiltered air from entering through holes or openings.

Filterfan A-flow blowing out
However, Fandis also has filterfans with reverse airflow - backflow in its range. In this combination, the inlet filter is located at the bottom and the outlet filter fan at the top of the control cabinet. The filter fan (A-flow blowing out or R for reverse) conveys warm air out of the top of the enclosure. The advantage of this arrangement is the high air flow rate (higher than with B-flow) - the disadvantage, however, is that the negative pressure generated by the fan inside the enclosure allows dust to enter the enclosure through holes and openings.

Roof ventilation/roof ventilator
However, warm air can also be discharged or blown out from the top of the enclosure. Because if there is no space for the side variant due to obstacles, walls, etc.
In the ideal configuration, the inlet filter (inlet filter fan also possible) is located at the bottom and the heated air can rise towards the roof, where it can either flow out passively or be blown out by the roof fan.

Enclosure internal fan
The use of a pivoting fan is an alternative solution for even better air circulation = recirculation in the enclosure.
Internal enclosure fans are adjustable in 2 axes and can be cleverly aligned and combined with other air conditioning components to specifically prevent heat pockets in the enclosure.
