Mean Well – Ultra-compact DIN-rail power supplies with advanced features

XDR

With the XDR series, MEAN WELL is expanding MEAN WELL portfolio of DIN-rail power supplies to include a particularly compact and high-performance series designed for industrial applications. The units were specifically developed for use in automation technology, mechanical engineering, and control and switchgear installations where high power density is required with minimal space requirements.

The series includes several power ratings ranging from 75 W to 960 W, covering a wide range of applications. Depending on the model, output voltages of 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, or 48 V are available. Thanks to their very slim design, the power supplies require significantly less space on the DIN rail and enable a more compact layout of control cabinets.

Another key feature of the XDR series is its high efficiency of up to 95%, which reduces energy losses and minimizes heat generation. As a result, these units are also suitable for applications with high power requirements and limited cooling options.

In addition, the devices feature a very low input current, a peak power of 200%, a protective coating, a MODBus interface (240 watts and up), remote ON/OFF, and a built-in ORing FET to protect against reverse power flow.

These power supplies are designed to be particularly robust for industrial environments. They operate reliably over a wide temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C and support a wide input voltage range of 85 to 305 VAC. In addition, they comply with overvoltage category OVC III, which allows for direct use in industrial power distribution systems.

To ensure safe and stable operation, the devices are equipped with comprehensive protection mechanisms, including short-circuit, overload, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection. The higher-power models also support parallel operation, which allows the total output to be further increased for demanding applications.

With its combination of high power density, compact design, and industrial reliability, the XDR series offers a modern power supply solution for demanding automation and control applications.
