RECOM REC30E-Z DC/DC converter with 30 watts in 1″x1″ housing

The RECOM REC30E-Z DC/DCs offer a great combination of power density, performance and low cost with a power rating of 30 watts in a package size of only 25.4 x 25.4 x 10mm. Two wide input ranges are offered: 9-36V (50V surge) and 18-75V (100V surge), covering a wide variety of ratings and their tolerances. Fully regulated single and dual outputs are available: 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 25V, +/-12V, and +/15VDC.

Thanks to the advanced circuit and thermal design typical of RECOM, the products achieve a peak efficiency of over 90% so that they can be operated at high ambient temperatures without any reduction in performance. If you reduce the airflow or load, performance is limited by the maximum casing temperature of 105°C. The efficiency curves are largely flat up to a load of around 20%, so standby losses are low and no minimum load is required. A switch-off control ensures that the devices are set to a state with low power dissipation. A +/-10% output trim pin is provided for single output products.

The insulation performance of the RECOM REC30E-Z series is 2kV/1min, the modules have safety certificates in accordance with IEC/EN 62368-1. Without external components, the components fulfill class A of the EMC standard EN 55032, while the class B limit values can be achieved with a simple additional filter network. The reliability of the products in this series is typically over 500khrs at 25°C in accordance with MIL-HDBK 217F, GB.

Thanks to the robust metal housing for shielding, excellent thermal performance can be offered, making the component suitable for use in harsh environments with pollution degree 2 (PD2).

As a rule, the products are used in industry, but are used wherever space on the circuit board is limited and reliable and high performance at an affordable price is required.
