Compact 6 watt RACM06E-K/277 AC/DC converter: power in miniature format (1″ x 1″)

RECOM once again proves itself to be the market leader with the new RACM06E-K/277, an economical 6W AC/DC power supply that offers an exceptional range of features in just 1 x 1 inch.

This boardmount through-hole module processes input voltages in the range of 80-305VAC (120-430VDC) and is therefore suitable for globally applicable nominal voltages of 100-277VAC. It offers output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 or 24VDC. Thanks to its thermally optimized design, the module can be operated over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +90°C. The power supply is designed for full load operation up to 60°C and offers protection against overtemperature, output short circuits and overvoltage. An MTBF of almost 2 million hours at 25°C and a rated service life of 43,000 hours ensure long and reliable operation.

The RACM06E-K/277 module has numerous certifications, including IEC/EN 62368-1 for IT/multimedia, IEC/EN 60335 for household and IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI 60601-1 for medical applications. The insulation reaches 2MOPP and the touch current is less than 0.1mA for body floating (BF) applications with direct patient contact. Class B EMC specifications are met with a generous margin with a floating output.

The RACM06E-K/277 series was developed for operation at altitudes of up to 5000m in overvoltage category II (OVC II) environments in accordance with IEC/EN 62368-1 and up to 3000m for OVC III in accordance with IEC 61558-2-16. The module is housed in a compact plastic housing measuring 25.6 x 25.6 x 16.6mm and weighing just 20 grams.

This compact AC/DC solution is ideal for small, portable devices that require an AC power supply in various global environments. It can also be used in a variety of other applications, for example as a cost-effective and efficient auxiliary power supply in larger power conversion systems or to supply IoT nodes.
