Recom - RMOD300-UW and RMOD360-UW DC/DC converters with ultra-wide input for e-mobility and material handling applications

Recom RMOD360 UW 1 1

We are pleased to announce the addition of two innovative products to the cost-effective RMOD range: the RMOD300-UW and the RMOD360-UW. These DC/DC converters are housed in a compact 190 x 76 x 44mm case with MOLEX™ connectors and offer an ultra-wide input voltage range of 18 to 106VDC (126VDC/10 min), supporting battery voltages from 24Vnom to 90Vnom. The RMOD300-UW delivers 300W of power and is available with regulated single outputs of 12.2VDC, 13.7VDC or 24.5VDC, while the RMOD360-UW offers 360W with a single output of 24.5VDC.

Both models have a robust polycarbonate housing with an aluminum base plate and IP67 protection for the electronics and IP20 protection for the entire product. They are designed for use in pollution degree 2 (PD2) up to 5000 meters, allowing flexible mounting on the vehicle chassis. Some variants offer alternative connections to ensure full IP67 classification.

The insulation is 2250VDC between input and output and 550VDC between output and base plate according to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1. The EMC standards according to IEC61000 are fulfilled according to EN12895 - EMC for industrial trucks, and the devices are qualified for shock and vibration resistance according to IEC60068-2. With an impressive MTBF of 740,000 hours, they offer a high level of reliability.

The new RMOD models offer comprehensive protection, including reverse polarity protection, undervoltage lockout, overtemperature protection, output overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection and short circuit protection. In addition, they have ON/OFF control and the ability to connect multiple devices in parallel to increase performance. With an efficiency of approx. 90%, they can be operated at ambient temperatures from -40°C to +75°C with specified derating.

Typical applications include the reliable provision of 12V or 24V voltages in transportation and e-mobility vehicles, forklifts, AGVs and construction vehicles powered by traction batteries with fluctuating or higher voltages, especially in demanding environments.
