Founded in 1993 as Panta GmbH, the company has established itself on the market as the market leader for flexible connection technologies in the field of "flat rolling of copper wires" and "lamination" in high-tech products for the electronics industry.

The product portfolio was expanded in the late 1990s to include various new lines such as FBC-flexible board connections, FFC-flexible flat cables and FM-flexible modules. After moving into a new production facility in 2004, the company Panta was taken over by Sumida in 2006 and renamed Sumida flexcible connections GmbH in 2009.

Today, fix jumper cables, ZIF cables, automatically mountable SMD jumper connections, fix crimp and fix power cables as well as directly solderable FLL foil cables are produced in Radeberg near Dresden, Germany.
Gradually, production facilities were also established in Romania and China.

Based on vertical integration, product know-how and system expertise, Sumida today supplies many markets such as climate sensors, laboratory and medical technology, measuring instruments, traffic and railroad technology, automotive, energy and lighting technology.
